Immediately after registration in the Service you get into the New Project Wizard. Here you have to specify what website you want to monitor. The New Project Wizard includes three steps. The first step is to specify the domain of the website you want to monitor, and then to click the Add button.

Sorge Service - the first step
The first step of the New Project Wizard

In the second step of the Project creating you need to choose what namely you want to monitor on the website:

  • Whole site monitoring - the system will get in the domain indicated by you in the first step and add for monitoring all found pages.
  • Choose sections and pages for monitoring - it is the mode enabling to choose on the interactive website map what namely you want to monitor.
  • Upload your links - an option enabling to upload to the Service you list of the URL-addresses and to monitor them only.

Sorge system - the second step
The second step of the New Project Wizard

It is important! Regardless of the method of the Project creation you can monitor no more than 800 pages – it is the maximum limit on your account. It is given to all new users for a period of 14 days within the Trial Period. At the end of the Trial Period you can purchase a subscription and continue to monitor the 800 pages or increase this limit by acquiring more pages. As option, after the end of the Trial Period you can use the free pages limit and monitor free and without restrictions no more than 30 web pages.

Press the Choose button to select the desired mode to create the project.

After selecting the option Whole site Monitoring the Project will be created at once.

If you have chosen the option Choose sections and pages for monitoring you will come to step 3, where you will see a visual site map.

Select the sections and pages for monitoring
Screenshot of the third step map of the New Project Wizard. Selection the sections and pages to be monitored.

The website map is made by the Service automatically based on the links included in the website. A few important points:

  • Since the map is based on links, non-existent pages may be included to it. This is due to the fact that somewhere on the website the non-existent link to one of the pages is prescribed. The System tries to avoid such cases, automatically discarding invalid links, but the appearance of such links is possible.
  • The link names are formed based on the pages title. If there are not, the part of the page url-address is put. If you want to display links without their names in the map key off the option Hide URL in the scheme.
  • Within 5 minutes after head over to the map page, the new pages can continue to appear in the map because of the link search continues in real time.
  • To search the links forming the map, the System visits to a maximum of 2000 website pages o (ie, theoretically the map can displays to hundreds of thousands of pages formed with the links found on each page). If you specify the website consisting of million pages, not all of them may be displayed in the map during the Project creating, since the links to them have been not found. But they can appear in the monitoring process and will be available in the edit mode of the website map.

To add pages or sections for the monitoring, you have to select them in the map. To select a page in the map, simply click on it and a menu will appear as a result.

Selecting a rule for the page monitoring
Menu to select a rule for the page monitoring

Menu allows you to choose the rules by which the SORGE will understand how to work with this page. This menu includes the following items:

  • Select all pages in the section – all child pages of the section will be put for changes monitoring, including the parent page (to apply the rule click on the parent page exactly). Selected pages will be painted with green.
  • Select only this page - only one particular page will be monitored, without regard to child pages. It will be colored with green.
  • Block all pages in the section - the parent and its child pages will be not monitored. They will be painted with blue.
  • Block only this page – only one particular page will be not monitored. It will be colored with blue.

So, the pages are marked with two colors: green pages are intended to be monitored, and the blue pages are out of monitoring.

The map can be dragged in different directions and you can use the scrolling and the keys up/down/left right as well as the PgUp and PgDn keys. The map can be maximized, and zoom in or out.

It is important: When setting pages to monitor, make sure that the range of selected pages does not exceed the limit of your pages. Otherwise, you have to out unnecessary pages from monitoring or to purchase them using the button Increase the pages number.

Links upload - Sorge
Links uploading Interface

There are two ways to upload links on this page:

  • Upload links through a field.
  • Upload as a file.

Either of these two ways contains a general set of rules:

1) All uploaded links have to relate only to the monitored website, ie to the same domain that you specified in step 1. You may indicate the links that are a sub-domain to the domain.

2) The links have to be arranged in a row, always indicating with «www.» or «http://» before the link. They have not be separated or contain extraneous words or symbols.

Example of link:

http://sorge.pro

http://docs.sorge.pro/

http://docs.sorge.pro/article/58/oplata-obshaya-informacia

http://docs.sorge.pro/article/59/oplata-podpiski-i-dopstranic

3) At heat you may upload no more than 1000 links. If you need to upload more links load them in lots.

4) You can not upload more links than the permissible page limit.

To upload links through the field (the way no.1) just specify them in a special area.

To upload links a the file (the way no.2), click on the appropriate area or drag a file to it. The file have to be in txt format.

When the links have been specified click on the button "Upload links" to send them for a test which will reveal the links wrote in violation of the above rules.

Links not uploaded - Sorge
Display links that can not be uploaded

Low there are two buttons. Upload more links – when you press the button you return to the upload links page, where you can upload the correct links in place of incorrect (previously uploaded links are saved in the Project). Button Create Project will create the Project using the correct links.
